OVERVIEW
Helen Prince has practised as a barrister for over 25 years. She practices mainly in the area of criminal law and solely as a defence barrister. She has represented clients in a number of high profile murder trials.
She appears regularly in the Supreme Court of Western Australia, including the Court of Appeal, the District Court of Western Australia, the Children’s Court of Western Australia and Magistrates’ Courts.
She has experience in Royal Commissions and coronial inquests and professional disciplinary matters.
She has an interest in forensic (scientific) evidence. She defended some of the earliest trials in W.A. where the reliability of the DNA evidence was in dispute. She also has an interest in forensic psychiatry and psychology , including the reliability of memory (retrieved childhood memory), trauma and addiction.
She has lectured in evidence and advocacy at Murdoch University.
